We move on to our third Filipino sentence pattern.
We often describe somebody when we speak.
When we refer to that somebody by a pronoun,
we have what we call pattern 1B:
|Pattern 1B||Personal pronoun||AY adjective|
|He||is not yet ready.|
|Siya||ay hindi pa handa.|
[sentence [subject [personal-pronoun siyį]] [predicate [predicate-marker ay] [adjective hindī pa
In the pattern definition above:
"Personal pronoun" can be replaced by "one or more personal pronouns."
"Adjective" can be replaced by "one or more adjectives."
Compare the different patterns:
|1A Personal name||Kiko is not yet ready.|
|1B Personal pronoun||They are not yet ready.
|1C Non-personal name||My mom is not yet ready.|
|1D Non-personal pronoun||It is ready.|
