The difference between actor focus and object focus

Actor focus (most frequently used: verbs in -um and mag-)

1. The receiver (called theme) of the verb's action, if there is one, is in the NG case.
2. The subject, always in ANG case, is the action's doer.
3. The subject is always specific.
4. The theme is never specific. If you want to talk about a specific person or thing, use object focus.

Pattern: verb-actor-focus ANG-subject optional NG-theme
